Aluminium 5083
Aluminium 5083 is renown for its outstanding performance in intense environments. It is highly resistant to corrosion in both seawater and industrial chemical environments.
5083 has the highest strength of the non-heat treatable alloys but it is not recommended for use over 65°C
Alloy 5083 is used in the following applications…
- Rail cars
- Vehicle bodies
- Ship building
- Tip truck bodies
- Mine skips and cages
- Pressure vessels
Aluminium 5083 is available from us in plate in the following sizes…
From a thickness of 4mm – 8”
